Rereading Favorite Books in the Fall
Every fall, I like to reread a favorite book, whether it is a classic or something a little more recent. The fall is the perfect time to sit by the fire with a glass of wine and curl up with a favorite book. This year I plan to read Persuasion by Jane Austen. It has been a few years since I last read it, but next to Pride and Prejudice, it is my favorite Austen. I always look forward to rereading an old favorite. Whether it’s a classic like Jane Austen, The Great Gatsby, or the Harry Potter series, it’s always nice to revisit characters you grew up with or ones that bring you back to a specific time.
I like to read the whole Harry Potter series every 2 years or so, because I grew up with the Golden Trio, and I always remember how it felt to read it for the first time. And even now (on my 5th or 6th time rereading them all), I still get excited every September 1st when they get on the Hogwarts Express or every time Harry catches the snitch. These old favorites become part of you, and rereading them is like saying hello to an old friend.
I cannot wait to sit down with some wine by the fire (once it actually gets cold here in Atlanta) to fall in love with Captain Wentworth all over again. Possible unpopular opinion alert, I may like Captain Wentworth more than Mr. Darcy.
