I have a ton of books on my To Be Read (TBR) list, and yet I cannot stop adding more books to it when I get great recommendations. My favorite places to get book recommendations vary from people to podcasts to Instagram.

The first place I go to get great recommendations is Modern Mrs. Darcy and the What Should I Read Next Podcast. Anne Bogel reads a ton and always recommends great books. On her podcast, guests tell her 3 books they love, one book they hate, and what they’re reading lately. Then from that discussion, Anne recommends 3 books that they should read next. Of the 120-plus episodes, I have probably gotten close to 30 book recommendations.

The next podcast I love is From the Front Porch with Annie Jones and Chris Jensen at the Bookshelf in Thomasville. Annie and Chris not only read amazing books, but also talk about life in a small town independent bookstore. I really want to visit the Bookshelf, but every time I’ve been in Thomasville over the last few years, it’s been closed because it’s always around Thanksgiving. But one day I will make it there!

Bookstagram is the book world of Instagram. I follow tons of great accounts that recommend books. Some have blogs, but most are just fellow readers who love books and started a bookstagram account. A couple of my favorites are Kate from katereadsbooks_, Rikki & Michaela from theardentbiblio, and Madeleine from topshelftext. They all have great and varying tastes.

I do get some recommendations from Goodreads, but mostly from friends on Goodreads as opposed to the actual recommendations Goodreads makes. Leigh Kramer and Amy from Read a Latte are two of my favorites, and I get a ton of new titles from them.

How do you get your recommendations?
